GOT WHAT IT TAKES? BECOME A GORE-TEX® GEAR TESTER PROMOTION
TERMS AND CONDITIONS
- Information on how to apply, frequently asked questions and prizes form part of these conditions of entry.
- Application is open to people over 18 years of age who are residents of either Australia or New Zealand only. Employees of the promoters, suppliers and agencies associated with this promotion and professional outdoor enthusiast seeking expedition sponsorship as well as immediate family of any of the foregoing are ineligible to apply.
- In Stage 1, apply by completing the on-line application form at www.gore-tex.com.au or www.gore-tex.co.nz. Submit a written response, in a maximum of 500 words, to the question: “tell us why you think you’ve got what it takes to become a GORE-TEX® products Gear Tester” and / or, in support of your application, upload a photograph (to the maximum size of 2MB in one of the following formats: jpeg, pdf, gif, or png) and / or video footage (via a YouTube Link - copy and paste the URL of your YouTube video.) of yourself participating in your favourite outdoor activity. Incomplete and illegible applications will be deemed invalid and will be discarded. By applying the applicant accepts the full terms and conditions. Only one application per person permitted.
- Applications containing nudity, profanity, obscenity, poor quality, incomplete or inaccurate application forms will not be accepted.
- Applicants must respect copyright laws at all times.
- In Stage 2 of the selection process, a short list of approximately 20 applicants will be required to participate in a telephone interview.
- Stage 1 application commences on Friday 1st May 2009. Applications close 19th June 2009 at 5pm Australian Eastern Standard time. Stage 2 of the selection process begins on 20th June 2009. No responsibility accepted for late, lost or misdirected applications.
- Each application will be individually assessed by a panel of judges at W.L.Gore & Associates (AUSTRALIA) Pty Ltd & Write Away Communication + Events based on communication skills, creative merit, passion for outdoor activities, sharing outdoor experiences and the need to wear GORE-TEX® Products.
- After completing stage 1 and stage 2 of the application process, there will be approx 5-10 applicants selected to be GORE-TEX® Product Gear Testers. The successful applicants will be notified by phone and by email. The judges’ decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
- The selected GORE-TEX® Product Gear Testers will be provided with GORE-TEX® Products including but not limited to a GORE-TEX® jacket and a pair of GORE-TEX® footwear for product testing during their regular outdoor activities. The testing products are non-transferrable or exchangeable and cannot be redeemed for cash.
- The GORE-TEX® Product Gear Testers are required to regularly test and use the provided GORE-TEX® Products during their own regular participation in appropriate outdoor activities and in appropriate environments for the time period of July 2009 – October 2009.
- GORE-TEX® Product Gear Testers will be required to write about their experiences in product testing on a dedicated section of the GORE-TEX® brand website on a regular basis (minimum of once per month), however, more regular communication will be encouraged. The promoter reserves the right to edit any content submitted by the GORE-TEX® product Gear Testers prior to posting such content to its GORE-TEX® brand website. If a selected GORE-TEX® Product Gear Tester fails to meet these obligations, W.L Gore reserves the right to request a return of the provided GORE-TEX® Products. The selected GORE-TEX® product Gear Testers must use their own equipment and technology to upload information and other content.
- Written content, images and video clips submitted to W.L. Gore & Associates (Australia) Pty Ltd or associated agencies either by uploading to the GORE-TEX® brand website or through direct information sharing shall become the property of W.L. Gore & Associates with unlimited worldwide usage rights. No prior consent is required for such use.
- In November 2009 out of the five to ten successful GORE-TEX® Product Gear Testers, one GORE-TEX® Product Gear Tester will be selected to receive a Peregrine travel voucher valued at ($4,000 AUD). Selection will be via an on-line public voting.
- The prize consists of one $4000AUD Peregrine Travel Voucher that is to be redeemed for a Peregrine holiday of the winner’s choice. If the trip chosen does not total $4000AUD, the remaining funds can be put towards flight costs for the trip. The prize is provided by Peregrine Adventures. Peregrine’s standard booking conditions apply, in addition to the following
15 a. Trip is subject to availability at time of reservation and the winner must make contact with Peregrine at his/her earliest convenience and no later than 56 days prior to the departure date of the tour.
15 b. There are no restrictions on trips or destinations, trip extensions and private group tours are not included. The winner is able to choose a Peregrine trip (including flights) of a total value higher than AU$4000, and pay the difference.
15 c. The winner will not be refunded if the total value of the trip chosen (including flights) falls below AU$4000.
15 d. Trip must be taken within 12 months of the travel voucher being issued.
15 e. This prize is non-transferable, non-refundable, cannot be sold or exchanged for cash and cannot be used in conjunction with any other offer.
15 f. The prize and booking of the prize are subject to the standard Peregrine Adventures booking terms and conditions.
15 g. Additional expenses not included in the inclusions such as airport departure taxes, meals not specified in the itinerary, insurance, any optional tours or activities during free time, tips and items of a personal nature, are at the winner’s expense.
15 h. It is a condition of entry that passengers take out comprehensive travel insurance (at their own expense) for use in conjunction with the prize.
15 i. Passengers must hold a valid passport and must obtain the necessary visas prior to travel, both of which are at the passenger's expense.
15 j. The winner will be issued with a travel voucher and instructions about how to redeem the prize from Peregrine Adventures.
- Except for the liability that cannot be excluded by law, the Promoter shall not be liable for any cost, expense, loss or damage whatsoever which is suffered (including but not limited to indirect or consequential loss) or for any personal injury or damage which is suffered or sustained as a result of applying for this promotion, accepting the prize and completing the product testing.
- The applicant acknowledges that the promoter will not participate in or otherwise be involved in planning the outdoor activities for testing GORE-TEX® Products. The applicants hereby waives his/her rights to assert any claim or file any complaint, lawsuit or proceeding against W.L Gore with respect to the outdoor activities or any event or occurrence, including injury or death, during or related to any of the outdoor activities.
- If for any reason the promotion is not capable of running as planned due to causes beyond the control of the promoter, the promoter reserves the right in its sole discretion to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the promotion subject to any written directions of any relevant authorities.

- Information is collected when you participate in competitions, promotions or other services.
