| Andrew Lock — High Altitude Mountaineer
Andrew Lock is recognised as one of Australia's most competent mountain climbing and remote area trekking guides. His expertise as an international expedition leader and logistician to destinations around the world is highly sought after, and his resume includes leading successful expeditions to Heard Island, Central Asia, South America, Mt Everest's summit and other remote areas of nearly every continent on earth.
Andrew’s achievements include summiting Mt Everest twice and conquering 12 of the world's 14 peaks above 8000m, feats that place him in an elite group of the world's best alpinists.
Summit 8000 is Andrew Lock's quest to climb all 14 of the world's highest peaks. The final phase of this mission is expected to take approximately one year and requires an Olympic-style training regime, extraordinary motivation and months away from family and friends. Only 12 men have reached the summit of all 14, while no other Australian has ever attempted such an undertaking.
